It creates space for control or turns. The move must stay legal and controlled. Too much force can cause a penalty. Crossfaces often set up cradles. They help break down strong defense. For example, a top wrestler applies a crossface. The opponent flattens out under pressure. The referee allows action to continue. The crossface improves leverage and control. Proper placement makes it powerful.
