Crossing space in volleyball refers to the vertical space above the net. The ball must cross within this area. Antennas mark the legal crossing zone.
If the ball crosses outside, play stops. Therefore, hitters and setters aim carefully. Wide plays risk errors. For example, a set drifts too far outside. The ball passes beyond the antenna. The referee whistles immediately. The opponent wins the rally due to crossing the space rules.
