Draw is a shot that makes the cue ball spin backward. Players hit the lower part of the cue ball. After striking the object ball, the cue ball rolls back. This helps control table position. It allows setup for the next shot. Timing and smooth contact matter greatly. For example, a player pockets a ball in the corner. The cue ball then rolls back toward the center. Draw gives players control instead of leaving position to chance.
