A duck under is a move that slips under your opponent’s arm. You control one arm first. Then you lower your level and move underneath it. Your head passes under their arm quickly. At the same time, you step behind them. This creates a clear path to their back. Speed and timing matter greatly. The opponent often loses sight of you briefly. For example, a wrestler ducks under and appears behind instantly. The referee signals a takedown after control. Duck unders rely on angles, not power. Quick footwork improves effectiveness.
