Feet not moving is a common technical flaw where a batter fails to step toward or away from the ball, relying only on their hands to reach the delivery. This lack of footwork makes it very difficult to balance the body, often leading to edges or being trapped LBW.
Example: The commentator noted the batter’s feet were not moving, which led to him poking at a wide ball and getting caught.
Pro-Tip: Good footwork is the foundation of great batting because it brings your head and eyes directly over the ball. When your feet stay ‘stuck’ in the crease, you lose the ability to adjust to late movement or changes in the ball’s trajectory.
