Flat Pitch Meaning in Cricket

Flat pitch describes a playing surface that offers very little help to the bowlers. The ground is hard and smooth, allowing the ball to bounce very predictably always. This condition makes it much easier for batters to score many runs without fear. The ball does not spin much or move sideways after hitting the dry dirt. One team scored five hundred runs on a very flat pitch during the game. These surfaces often lead to very high scoring matches with very few wickets taken. Bowlers must work much harder and use more variations to deceive the batters here. It is a test of stamina for the fielding side over many hours. Fans often enjoy the many boundaries produced by such a batting friendly surface.
