The floor is the flat bottom surface of the car. It controls airflow underneath the vehicle. Modern designs shape it to create downforce. Air moves quickly beneath the floor. Lower pressure pulls the car toward the track. For example when ride height changes the floor performance shifts. Too much bouncing can reduce grip. Engineers study floor damage closely after contact. Even small cracks affect airflow. The floor now produces much of the car’s downforce. It is one of the most important aerodynamic parts.
