Flying Wing Meaning in Handball

A flying wing is a wing player who jumps into the goal area. This player starts their jump from outside the six meter line to score. They must release the ball before any part of their body touches floor. Jumping forward provides a better angle to beat the goalkeeper from the corner. This athletic move is a standard way for wings to finish their attacks. A left wing player leaps from the corner and scores a goal midair. The player must land safely inside the goal area after the shot is gone. High jumping ability allows these players to stay in the air for longer periods. Mastering the timing of the jump and release is critical for every wing. Successful flying wing shots often provide the most spectacular highlights in a handball match.
