Foot Fault Meaning in Dodgeball

A foot fault occurs when a player steps on or over a restricted boundary line. These lines include the outer sidelines, the back end lines, and the center dividing line. A player accidentally steps over the middle line while attempting to throw at an opponent. This violation results in the immediate elimination of the player from the current game round. Referees watch the feet of every athlete closely during the opening rush for the balls. Staying within the designated lines requires excellent balance and spatial awareness during fast paced play. Competitive matches use bright tape to mark these boundaries clearly for all of the participants. Players must check their positioning before and after every throw to avoid this common error.
