Full Hit Meaning in Billiards

A full hit occurs when the cue ball strikes the object ball directly in the center. In this scenario, the cue ball transfers almost all of its forward energy to the target. The object ball will travel in the exact same line that the cue ball was moving. This is the simplest shot to visualize because there are no complex angles involved. After the collision, the cue ball will usually stop or roll forward slowly depending on the spin. It is the most efficient way to move a ball a long distance across the table. You use a full hit when the ball and the pocket are in a perfectly straight line. For example, a player lines up a straight shot and hits the ball dead center. The object ball flies directly into the back of the pocket with great power. It is a fundamental building block for learning how to control the speed of your shots.
