Good Lift Meaning in Weightlifting

A good lift is a successful attempt that meets all official technical rules. Three referees watch the athlete and signal their decision with colored lights or flags. A white light indicates the lift followed all standards of the sport governing body. The athlete must complete the full movement and stand still with the weight. They must also wait for the official down signal before lowering the barbell. A good lift counts toward the total score of the athlete in a meet. A lifter receives three white lights for a perfectly executed snatch at the championship. Avoiding any press out or foot movement ensures the lift receives a positive score.
