Hip Toss Meaning in Wrestling

A hip toss is a throw where you turn your hips in front of your opponent and pull them over your hip to the mat. You control their upper body and use your hips as the lifting point. It works best from close contact. Balance and quick rotation are important. Example: A wrestler secures an overhook, turns his hips in, and flips his opponent over. The referee awards a takedown.
