Inside Trip Meaning in Wrestling

An inside trip is a takedown where you hook your leg inside your opponent’s leg and drive them backward. You use upper body control at the same time. The hooked leg blocks their balance. Strong body pressure helps finish the move. It works best from close contact. Example: A wrestler locks up, steps his leg inside, and trips his opponent to the mat. The referee awards a takedown.
