Jump Shot Meaning in Billiards

A jump shot lifts the cue ball off the table surface. The player strikes down sharply on the cue ball. This causes it to hop over another ball. Players use this when a direct path is blocked. The goal is to clear the obstacle and hit the target ball. Control and accuracy are critical here. For example, a player jumps over a blocking ball to pocket the 8-ball. Jump shots require skill and careful execution.
