A kick-out pass sends the ball from inside to the perimeter. It usually follows a drive. This pass finds open shooters. For example, a driver draws defenders and kicks out. The shooter hits an open three. Kick-outs punish help defense. Timing matters greatly.
Passes must be quick and accurate. Coaches love inside-out play. Kick-outs create rhythm shots. Defenders scramble after them. Players must relocate quickly.
