Kicking refers to the act of intentionally striking the dodgeball with the foot. This action is usually restricted to defensive deflections rather than offensive scoring plays. A player kicks a ball toward the opponent instead of using their hands. Many leagues forbid kicking the ball as a method of attacking the other team. Doing so often results in a technical violation or a ball turnover. Referees watch for players who use their feet to gain an unfair advantage. The primary purpose of the game involves throwing and catching with the hands. Players should only use their feet to block or stop a low ball.
