Kushanku Meaning in Karate

Kushanku is a long and comprehensive karate form named after a legendary Chinese military official in history. This pattern includes sixty five distinct movements that cover a wide range of defensive and offensive skills. It serves as a summary of many different techniques like jumps, drops, and various high kicks. The form teaches the practitioner how to deal with multiple attackers coming from every possible direction at once. Students must have great stamina and mental focus to complete the long sequence with full power. An athlete performs a high kick followed by a low floor block in a championship match. Proper breathing helps the martial artist maintain a steady heart rate throughout the entire long performance. This form is often a requirement for students who are testing for their highest black belt levels.
