A masse is a curved shot created with extreme spin. The player holds the cue stick at a steep angle. They strike the cue ball with strong side spin. The ball then curves around an obstacle. This shot looks dramatic but serves a clear purpose. Players use it when straight paths are blocked. For example, a player bends the cue ball around another ball to score. Masse shots demand precision and advanced control.
