Match Point Meaning in Tennis

Match point happens when a player needs one more point to win the entire match. This is the final chance to finish the contest. The crowd often becomes quiet during this moment. One successful point ends everything. However, the opponent can still save it by winning the point. For example, a player leads by two sets and reaches 40-30. That point becomes match point. If the leader wins the rally, the match ends. Match points test nerve and focus more than any other point.
