A mesocycle is a medium-term training block that typically lasts between four and six weeks. This period focuses on a specific physical goal like building muscle or increasing lifting speed. Each block builds upon the previous one to prepare the body for heavier weights later. The lifter spent one mesocycle focusing only on improving their overhead stability and strength. Changing the focus every month prevents the body from reaching a plateau in performance. These blocks allow coaches to track progress and adjust the intensity of the daily workouts.
