Definition: On-deck refers to the player who is next in line to bat after the current hitter. This player stands in a designated circular area called the “on-deck circle” to warm up, practice their swing, and timing.
Example: While the star player was at the plate, the next hitter was on-deck, stretching and watching the pitcher’s movements.
