An overload attack is a strategy where multiple players move to one side. This movement creates a numerical advantage against the defenders in that specific area. By putting three attackers against two defenders the team finds an open gap. This tactic forces the defense to shift and leave other areas of court. Coordination and fast passing are essential to exploit the temporary open space created. The offense moves two wings and a pivot to the right side area. This overload creates an easy scoring opportunity for the unmarked right wing player. Teams use this play to break down a very organized and tight defense. It requires every player to understand their role and timing during the shift. Successful overloads often lead to high percentage shots from the six meter line.
