Overtime is an extra period of play used to break a tie after regulation. This situation happens when both teams have the same number of wins at the end. The referee adds two minutes of sudden death play to determine the final winner. The first team to eliminate an opponent or catch a ball wins the entire match. Overtime rules often change to speed up the game and create a quick conclusion. Sometimes the boundaries are narrowed to force players closer to each other for more action. The intensity is very high because a single mistake can end the tournament for everyone. Teams must stay calm and focused during these high pressure and decisive final moments.
