Peterson Roll Meaning in Wrestling

A Peterson roll is a counter move from the bottom position. When your opponent is behind you, you trap their arm and roll through to reverse control. It turns defense into offense. You must move quickly before they adjust. Proper grip and hip movement are key. Example: A bottom wrestler traps the arm during a ride and rolls across his shoulders. He comes out on top and earns a reversal.
