A single leg takedown attacks one of your opponent’s legs. You grab one leg and control it tightly. Then you lift or drive to off-balance them. This forces them to hop or fall backward. Balance becomes very hard on one foot. You stay close to limit their movement. Control matters more than strength here. Good timing makes the move effective. You often set it up with hand fighting. You pull the leg in toward your body. Then you push your shoulder into their hips. This breaks their balance quickly. For example, a wrestler grabs a leg and drives forward for points. The referee awards a takedown once control is clear. Beginners like this move because it feels direct. However, you must keep your head up. Otherwise, your opponent can counter easily.
