Sode-Tsuri-Komi-Goshi is a sleeve lifting pulling hip throw used in matches. The attacker grabs both sleeves of the opponent instead of the lapel. Lifting the arms high creates a space to enter with the hips. The player then tosses the defender over the side of the hip. One game example involves a player throwing an opponent for a high score. This move requires the attacker to have very strong and active shoulders. Success depends on the timing of the lift and the hip rotation. The defender flies through the air because their arms are controlled firmly. Strategy involves moving in a circle to pull the opponent onto the hip. This technique is a spectacular and advanced way to score in judo.
