Ten-ball is a highly disciplined game similar to nine-ball but with ten numbered balls used. It is widely considered a more difficult version because it requires every shot to be called. You must designate which ball you are hitting and which pocket it will enter beforehand. This eliminates the lucky shots that often happen in faster games like nine-ball or eight-ball. Just like its predecessor, you must always strike the lowest-numbered ball on the table first. The game only ends when the ten ball is legally pocketed after all others or via a called shot. For example, a player calls the ten ball in the side pocket after hitting the one ball. If it goes in exactly as described, they win the game on that single turn. It is the preferred game for top-tier tournaments because it truly tests a player’s intent. It rewards consistent accuracy and punishes players who rely on accidental success.
