Track Start Meaning in Swimming

A track start is a diving technique where the swimmer places one foot at the front of the block and the other on a rear wedge. This stance mimics a track runner’s starting blocks to provide a more explosive and stable forward launch. It allows the athlete to shift their center of gravity and react faster to the starting signal. A swimmer adjusts the back wedge to their favorite setting before performing a track start.
