A turk is when you use your leg to trap one of your opponent’s legs from the top position. This stops them from moving their hips freely. It gives you better control on the mat. The trapped leg makes it hard for them to escape. You stay tight and keep pressure forward. Turks are often used to set up turns. For example, a wrestler hooks his leg around his opponent’s leg. The bottom wrestler struggles to move. The top wrestler maintains control easily. A turk limits hip movement and creates control.
