Yorker Meaning in Cricket

A yorker is a very difficult delivery that bounces right at the batter’s feet or on the crease line. This ball is extremely hard to hit because it aims to go under the bat and strike the bottom of the wickets. Example: The fast bowler delivered a perfect toe-crushing yorker that knocked the batter over and shattered the middle stump.

Pro-Tip: Mastery of the yorker is essential for bowlers during the final overs when batters are trying to hit every ball. It requires incredible precision and a very fast arm speed to execute correctly without becoming a full toss. Therefore, it remains the most feared weapon in a fast bowler’s diverse arsenal of deliveries.
